I would guess that you have heard about coaching, haven’t you? Coaching and coaches are all over the Internet. After all, it is the new “buzz word” in the business world, educational environment, and in personal improvement; unfortunately, lots of people call themselves coaches. Word of warning: Buyer beware! Not all coaches are created equally, and you deserve a accredited, credentialed professional with proven experience in helping clients reach their leadership and life goals. If credentials matter to you when you work with someone, then keep reading.
What if I…? What if you could lead and live better? What if you could be your best self, more self-aware, and more engaged at work and in your personal life? Do you want to choose where your organization is going and how you will lead and live? These are the types of concerns that my clients bring to their professional or personal coaching sessions. By working together, the client and I explore a client-selected agenda, finding answers and solutions to working and living smarter. I am a trained, accredited, and degreed professional who can help you step out and reach the goals that you desire in business or in life.
What difference does coach training make? My training is not one weekend at a coaching event with a group of 500 people; then, I label myself a “coach”. There are coaching programs like that, but I have over two and a half years of coach training with more than 200 hours of actual practice with oversight from accredited coaches. I trained through two coaching programs in the last 2 ½ years with 18 days of training, an oral coaching exam, and a final coaching knowledge exam. My training is vetted and linked to IPEC (the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching) and IFC (the International Coach Federation), which both require hours of peer coaching, mentor coaching, exams, and classroom training hours. Both IPEC and IFC are built on the highest coaching ethics and latest research in coaching. You have the assurance that I have the skills to help your team, your business, or you personally. Most of us want an expert to ensure that we receive the best service available; consequently, I sought the best coaching training for my professional accreditation through IPEC and IFC. In the age of the Internet, anyone can claim to be an expert. You want a proven leader to help you find the success you and your business want and deserve. Set your course today; talk to me.
So what, you have a coach credential: In addition to my accreditation through IFC and IPEC, I am a multi-degreed professional with administrative leadership hours at the bachelor, master’s, and doctoral level. I didn’t just read about leadership in some books or courses; I am a leader! I served as a successful administrative leader and trainer for more than 18 years. During that time, I worked with leaders, administrators, directors, and boards, providing them with training or coaching. I have trained and worked with adult leaders for the past 18 years, and I have taught college-level courses as well. In early fall 2016, I began coaching Rice University students in the Doerr Leadership Institute, where I serve as an independent leadership coach. In addition to my educational background, my coaching firm is also vetted through several Texas law-enforcement agencies with a clear criminal background check and fingerprinting. My clients can know with certainty that my coaching practice is backed by my professional reputation, proven business ethics, and high standards of conduct.
Trained as a Transformational Leader: For the past three years, I have trained with national and international leaders who are experts on transforming organizations. I trained with Alan November, John Horn, Roland Chevalier, and Shannon Buerk. These national leaders provided me with training that supports my coaching practice: transformation occurs when we change our thoughts. My coaching is deeply rooted in neuro-science and in learning theory. Through coaching, you can transform your core thoughts; when core thoughts change, your emotions change, and your actions follow. That is the real power of coaching!
Why does my business/ my board need a coach? Why do I need coaching? We have all heard the saying, “live and learn;” unfortunately, many people or organizations do not learn! With coaching, you learn to be more self-aware and recognize how you can lead and live with intention! A coach brings objectivity, accountability, and training to the table. People within your organization or your circle of friends often lack the objectivity or the appropriate skills even though they might desire to help you. Often times, people or organizations can’t make improvement without accountability; as your coach, I am trained to assist businesses or individuals in their being accountable for action steps. As an accredited and trained coach, I can help you see the barrier that you were unable to see as a team or on your own.
